Old Homestead
Old Homestead at Peach

This house used to stand next to our farm on Peach Road in Giles Co., TN. I do not know who the young lady is. On the back it says grandmother. I know the home was built by Clarence Petty, but the only grandmother in that home during that time would have been mine and I do not believe that it's Clara Petty. It could be her sister Edith, but Edith did not have any grandchildren until I was grown, so the lady is a mystery woman at Peach.

World War II Post Card

Hardiman Postcard

I found this postcard in an album my mother kept with World War II photos and newspaper articles. I know that my father returned from Europe in July of 1945. He must have had leave and taken my mother to Pulaski in August of 1945. I have included the notation my mother made on the reverse side of the postcard. They celebrated the end of the war on VJ Day at this church.
