Mustered into service at Camp Trousdale by Lt Hunt
Enlisted for a period of 12 months.
Willis C. Pyle was at the battle of Fort Donelson and
was captured February 16th 1862 and transferred to Camp Morton as a
POW.
Released from Camp Morton and traveled down Mississippi River to
Vicksburg, Mississippi and exchanged for fed prisoners. They traveled by
steamer Champion and was released Sept 1862.
Discharged February 1863 on account of disability.
