Noah Hancock To James J. Glasgow
Deed for One Hundred Acres of Land
On the Waters of Donahue Creek, A Tributary of Richland
Registered the 2nd December 1848

Noah Hancock have this day sold, claimed and conveyed unto James J. Glasgow for the sum of Three hundred dollars to me in hand paid by said J. Glasgow all Rights, title, claims and interest that I have in and to a certain tract or parcel of land being lying and situated in the 6th Civil district of Giles County and State of Tennessee on the waters of Donahue's Creek, a tributary of Richland. It being the same tract for which I Executed my title bonds on the 7th day of October 1845 bounded as follows to wit, Beginning at Stephen D. Williams north west corner in the dividing line between the two heirs of Baucomb ( Baucom) Thence West with said line to a forked Chestnut. The corner made by John B. Anthony and myself. Thence South with said Anthony's line to a Stake on the top of the Ridge on which James J. Glasgow now resides. Thence East with the meanderings of said Ridge so as to give the said Glasgow Sufficient Room for a yard on the south side of his house to Stephen D Williams West line. Thence North with said line to the Beginning. Supposed to contain one hundred acres be the sum more or less. To have and to hold the same unto the said James J. Glasgow and his heirs forever I do covenant with the said Glasgow that I will warrant and defend the title of the aforesaid tract of land unto the said James J. Glasgow and heirs against the claims of any and all persons whomsoever. In testimony whereof I have hereunto sit my hand and Affixed my seal this 9th day of Nov. AD 1848.

Personally appeared before me Edward D. Jones, Clerk of the County Court of Giles County. The within named Noah Hancock., with whom I am personally acquainted, and who acknowledges That he Executed the within Deed for the purposes therein contained --- Witnesses my hand at Office this 2nd day of December AD 1848.
