This Indenture made this twenty first day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine Between William H. Moore of the County of Giles and State of Tennessee of the one part and James Hasten of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said William H. Moore for and in consideration of the sum of fourteen hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said James Hasten the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given grants bargained sold aliened _______ and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant Bargain Sell alien ________ and confirm unto the said James Hastin his heirs or assigns forever a Certain tract or parcel of land situate lying being in the county and stet aforesaid on the South side of Elk River Beginning at a stake in the South boundary line of the State of Tennessee and at the South east corner of Samuel Cummingss old grant running from thence North 52 degrees East at twenty four links is a ______ _____ marked at a corner, thence with Cummings line North one hundred and twenty two poles to a stake in a field, thence east Two hundred poles to a black gum and dogwood thence South one hundred and fifty poles to two red oaks and a Sugartree on the state line thence south Eighty three degrees with two hundred and one poles to the beginning containing two hundred acres with the appurtenances. To Have and to hold the above described tract of land and bargained premises to him the said James Hasten his heirs and assigns forever to the only proper use benefit and behoof of him the said James Hasten his heirs and assigns forever. And the said William H. Moore for himself and his Heirs doth covinant and agree to and with the said James Hasten and his Heirs doth covinant and agree to and with the said James Hasten and his Heirs and assigns that the said William H. Moore the title to said tract of land doth bargained premises will warrant and forever defend against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons Whatever In testimony whereof the said William H. State of Tennessee Giles County Court May term 1829 Then was the within deed of conveyance from W. H. Moore to William Hastings produced in Court and the execution thereof proven by the oath of Isaac Mason and Charles C. Abernathy the subscribing Witnesses thereto and was thereupon ordered to be Certified for registration.
