1824 Dec. 28 Rec of Joseph C. Hastin the sum of four hundred dollars. It being in full for a negro woman Juoy (transcriber note: name could be Judy, could be Indy) the right and title of the above named negro Juoy I warrant and forever defend against the claim of every person whatsoever given under my hand this day and dating above written. Then was the within Bill of sale from William Abernathy to Joseph C. Hasten produced in court and the execution thereof proven by the oath of Thomas Batte the subscribing Witness thereto and ordered to be certified for registration. In testimony whereof I German Leston clerk of said court have hereunto set my hand and affixes the seal of said court at office this 7^th day of March 1828.
