Know all men by these presents that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to and in hand paid this receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged we have sold and do by these presents bargain sell and deliver, until Nathaniel Hastin a certain negro girl named Ann, age seven years which girl we warrant to be sound and in good health and strength warranted by us to be a slave for life the right of which girl we warrant and defend against ourselves our heirs executors and assigns, and all other persons in favor of S. Hastin the present purchaser. In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hand and seal this 13th day of February 1823. David Stong (seal) In the presence of

Hastin produced in court and the execution thereof proven by the oath of Jesse Peebles and William Braden the subscribing Witnesses thereto and was there upon ordered to be Certified for Registration.
