This indenture made this 7th day of May 1825 Between Henry Cross of the County of Giles State of Tennessee of the one part and Robert McGill of the same County & State of the other part, witnesseth that the said Henry Cross for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred & thirty seven dollars & fifty cents to him paid, hath granted Bargained Sold and conveyed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell and convey unto him the said Robert McGill a certain Tract or parcel of land containing fifty acres by survey bearing date 28th day of November 1822 lying in the seventh district beginning at an ash and sweetgum thirty poles north of the three mile post west from the south east corner of said section, thence North thirty eight poles to A. & J. McDonalds South boundary, thence, East- with their line six poles to their South east corner, thence North ninety four poles with their line to a lynn air (?) Elm, thence East Sixty two poles to a birch, thence South one hundred and thirty two poles to an ash and back thence west sixty eighty poles to the beginning with all and singular appertunances thereunto belonging to have and to hold the before described tract of land and all the appertunances thereunto belonging unto the said Robert McGill and his heirs and assigns forever free from the claim of him the said Henry Cross his heirs and and (second "and" underlined) assigns forever free from the claim of claims of all and every other person or persons will warrent and forever defend unto the said Robert McGill his heirs or assigns by these preasants in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the day and year first herein written.
