Charles W. Knight, 81, a resident of Bigbyville, died Saturday night
[March 24, 1973] at the Maury County Hospital following a short illness.
Funeral services for Mr. Knight will be conducted Tuesday at 2pm at Oakes
and Nichols Funeral Home with Venton Morgon, Church of Christ minister,
officiating. Burial will be in the Lynnwood Cemetery at Lynnville.
Born in Maury County, he was the son of the late Charles D. and Sallie
Foster Knight. He was a retired employee of National Carbon and a farmer.
He drove a truck for Washington Manufacturing Company for a number of years
He was married to Clemmie Pearson Knight, who died July, 1969, and was a
member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Dan Knight of Catonsville, Md, and Charles
Knight of Severna Park, Md., three sisters, Mrs Lillie Walker and Mrs
Rebecca Bates, both of Tampa, Fla, and Mrs Anna Cannon of Athens, Ala., four
grandaughters, Dianna Taplin of Kenai, Alaska, Judy Ortiz of Severna Park,
Md, Priscilla Evirs of Greenville, S.C, and Beth Knight of Catonsville, Md.,
one great-grandson, Shawn Taplin of Kenai, Alaska.
Pallbearers will be Jack Cannon, Joe Bell, Dennis Ortiz, Richy Evirs, Luther
Thomas, and Albert Compton.
