102 Kinsmen Present For Mitchel Reunion Honor Father on Birthday

John B. Mitchel of Piney Grove was surprised with a dinner and famly reunion last Sunday, honoring his 80th birthday, which was Sep 22.

All nine of his childen and their families were included in the 102 relatives present at the family gathering.

The home of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Underwood and sons was the scene of the 50th wedding anniversary celebration, Sunday of Mrs. Underwoods's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hickman, of Lynnville, Tenn.

Enjoying the reunion were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hickman and Mary of Pulaski, Tenn., Mr. and Mrs. Robert Petty, Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Hickman and family of Lynnville, Tenn. Edward Hickman of Florida and J. B. Hickman of Virginia were unable to be present.

The Sweet Springs Baptist church congregation prepared a surprise dinner Sunday for Mrs. Charlie Shelton of Ardmore, on the occasion of her 67th birthday.

Helping Mrs. Shelton celebrate were her husband and all of her children and grandchildren, except one son, R. D. Shelton, Atlanta, Ga.

Others present were the Rev. and Mrs. Chester Jones and Mazie Ann of Oak Grove, the Rev. and Mrs. Elzie Jones and daughter, Mrs. Lillie Pepper and Mrs. Luther Faulkenberry, all of Athens; Mrs. Cora Claunch, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Eckstein, Mrs. Lizzie Bailey and Patricia, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Gates and children, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Long, all of Wooley Springs; Mrs. Dela Shannon, Mrs. Fanny Reyer and family, Mrs. Mamie Johnson, Mrs. Azzie Holman, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Warden, all of near Pinedale and Ardmore.
