Sep 1868. He married Nancy HAMMONDS, daughter of James HAMMONDS
and Dorcas. She was born 29 Jun 1812 in NC, and died 12 Jul 1878.

Barrington Jackson's Will ... Written 1867:
To my wife Mary Jackson all household & kitchen furniture, cooking
utensils, bee stands, one sow & pigs, one cow & calf, one grey mare,
beasley mare, buggy & harness and the remainder of her father's estate.
To son Andrew Jackson tract of land on which he resides and deeded to
him, two head of horses, sow & pig, sheep, cow, calf, saddle, bridle,
bed, furniture, all has been given as his part. To James M. Jackson,
one horse, saddle, bridle, cow, calf, sow, pigs, sheep, and a tract of
land in Limestone County, Alabama, except eight hundred dollars which
James M. Jackson is to pay my grandson William B. Stevenson. I have
given son-in-law Coleman L. Stevenson & wife Louiza Stevenson one horse,
saddle, bridle, cow, calf, sheep, bed, furniture, fifteen hundred dollars
and one note for five hundred dollars. To sons Joseph S., David, &
William S. Jackson my home tract on which I now reside, three hundred
eighty acres purchased from estate of James Hammonds. Son that gets the
house to support wife Nancy Jackson. To three sons all stock of horses,
hogs, cattle, one yoke of oxen, sheep, pork hogs, except what necessary
for use of family, all corn, fodder, oats, farming utensils, plows, plow
gearing and fan mill. I have given to daughter Mary M. Hunter horse,
saddle, bridle, cow, calf, sheep, bed, & furniture. To grandchildren heirs
of Mary M. Hunter, deceased, namely, Mary J. Jones, Thomas A. Hunter,
William J. Hunter, Louiza M. Hunter, James B. Hunter tract of land.

Obituary:
Funeral services for Mrs. Lura Ellen Jackson, 88, were conducted at 2:00
o'clock Wednesday afternoon at Freemon Funeral Home with burial in Mimosa
Cemetery. Mrs. Jackson died Tuesday in Lawrenceburg Hospital after a short
illness. A native of Giles County, she was a Baptist, and the daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. Presley Haney.
She is survived by two sons, Dr. D. E. Jackson, Lawrenceburg, Dr. J.
E. Jackson, Loretto; two daughter, Mrs. Herschel Hester and Mrs. Roy
Malone, both of Nashville; four brothers, Edward, Everett, Herschel and
Charlie Haney of Minor Hill; two sisters, Mrs. Lee Farris, Minor Hill and
Mrs. Mamie Howard, Pulaski; three grandchildren, and six great-
grandchildren.

Obituary:
Funeral services for Henry Jackson, 82, retired farmer of the Third Civil District,
were held at 11 o'clock Saturday morning at Pleasant Hill Church at Stella with
the burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mr. Jackson died at 3:45 Friday morning,
November 29, at his home.
Born April 24, 1881, in Giles County, he was the son of the late Joseph
C. Jackson and Eunice Alsup Jackson. He was a member of the Church
of Christ.
Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife, Mrs. Julia Stovall Jackson; one
daughter, Miss Christine Jackson, Stella; one brother, Tom Jackson, Athens,
Ala.; and one sister, Mrs. Rosa Tennison, Limestone County, Ala.

Wilburn Jackson, son of J. S. Jackson died at his home at Minor Hill, Thursday
after an illness with typhoid fever complicated with pneumonia. Wilburn Jackson
was about 18 years old and a promising young man. The burial was at the family
graveyard on Friday.
