The petition of ROBERT NEWTON administrator of Ezekial MORRISON deceased and NANCY MORRISON his widow and BERRY MORRISON...JAMES E MORRISON JOHN MORRISON AND ELIZABETH J....NANCY J....MARY F...GEORGE W.....SALLEY..AND JOSEPH MORRISON..LAST SIX OF WHOM ARE MINORS file this petition by their mother and next friend the said NANCY MORRISON and the ONLY children and heirs at law of Ezekial MORRISON deceased.


Your petitioners would most respectfully state and show that the said EXEKIAL MORRISON died in said county of Lawrence intestate leaving the said NANCY MORRISON his widow and.the said other 
petitioners, his only children and heirs at law. A tract of land lying and being in said county of Lawrence on the waters of Bluewater in range 5 and section 1..and containing THREE HUNDRED AND FORTY TWO ACRES the grant thereto is herewith filed marked exhibit #1 and prayed to be taken as a first of the petitioner.


Your petitioner would further state that the said ROBERT NEWTON was duly appointed by the county court of said county ADMINISTRATOR upon the estate of siad intestate executed bond as required by law and took upon himself the adminintration of the estate of said deceased and as such administration has sold the personal estate and collected all the personal assects of said estate and after paying the proper expenses of the administration has paid out all the personal assets of said deceased and leaving
still due and unpaid the sum of ninety two dollars and 49 1/2 cents without interest that on the 5th day of February 1849 the said administration had a full settlement of all the personal assects of said estate and in said settlement it was appertained that the said estate was indebted to various persons in the sum of
#274.07 1/2 and that the personal assects only amounted to $181.58 leaving a balance of $92.49 1/2 unpaid with interest theron from date of said settlement. A copy of said settlement is herewith filed marked exhibit #2 and to be taken as a part of this petition.


Your petitioners further state that the said NANCY MORRISON as the widow of said intestate is entitled to DOWER in said 342 acres of land and that the same should be laid off and alloted to her according to law and that it will be necessary to sell the whole of said encumbered with the dower to pay said balance of $92.49 1/2 and the expenses of selling of said land.


Your petitioners pray that said three hundred and forty two acres of land encumbered with the dower or life estate of said WIDOW NANCY MORRISON may be sold on such terms as the court may seem right and proper and that the proceed of such sale may be put in the hands of said administration for the payment of $92.49 1/2 and all legAL and proper interest thereon and for such others and further relief as to the Court may seem right and proper in the promises and as so duty bound your petitioners R.W Rose for petitioners ROBERT NEWTON ADMIN AND OTHERS PETITION TO SELL LAND FILED DECEMBER 1852.

HESTER and wife Aurora, a tract of land containing 175 acres in Civil District 4 on the waters of Sugar Creek for the sum of $1,015.00. Said 
conveyance was merely signed but not acknowledged before subscribing witnesses nor before the County Court Clerk and Complainant cannot have Deed registered for these reasons and his title defective to this extent. T. K. HESTER bought this land of Darlene M. Tidwell. Complainant R. W. HESTER sold land to David, D. C., and Joseph Thomas and George MORRISON.

End comes after long lingering illness to well known Appleton resident..James David formerly known as Dee died Friday Mar 21 at his home near Appleton.  He is survived by widow Mrs Betty Glass Morrison two sons Jessie and Felix Morrison, two grandsons and one granddaughter. Two brothers also survive..Berry Morrison of
Decatur and Billy Morrison of Appleton..one sister Mrs M. Carter of Mt Pleasant TN .. A member of the Methodist Church since boyhood. North FunerAL Home in charge of arrangements.
