1. MARY JANE1 POTTER was born Abt. 1845 in Tennessee, and
died Aft. 04 May 1905 in Jennings, Pawnee County, Oklahoma. She married
DAVID RICHARD F. BELLEW 23 December 1868 in Pulaksi, Giles County,
Tennessee1, son of ISIAH BELLEW and CHRISCHINA MIZE.
He was born 09 May 1844 in St. Clair County, Alabama, and died 06
January 1901 in Jennings, Pawnee County, Oklahoma2
.
Richard F. Bellew enrolled on the 6th day of November, 1863, as a
Private in Co K 3rd Regiment Tennessee Cavalry Volunteers commanded by
John H. Morton. He was captured by the enemy September 24, 1864 at
Athens, Alabama, and escaped from rebel prison at Catawba, Alabama about
January 16, 1865 and reported within Union ____ at Bridgeport, Alabama
January 23, 1865. He was honorably discharged at Pulaski, Tennessee on
the 3rd day of August, 1865, by reason of close of war.
