Willis C. Pyle of Giles Co. Tn:

  • Enlisted into Co. H . 32nd Tennessee Infantry, Captain Thomas Hanna's Co. Tennessee Volunteers dated October 19 1861
  • Mustered into service at Camp Trousdale by Lt Hunt
  • Enlisted for a period of 12 months.
  • Willis C. Pyle was at the battle of Fort Donelson and was captured February 16th 1862 and transferred to Camp Morton as a POW.
  • Released from Camp Morton and traveled down Mississippi River to Vicksburg, Mississippi and exchanged for fed prisoners. They traveled by steamer Champion and was released Sept 1862.
  • Discharged February 1863 on account of disability.
