This indenture made on the fourth day of June one thousand eight hundred and fourteen,between, geo. Shields and Alexander Barron Sen. of the county of Giles and state of Tennessee of the one part and Alexander Barron Jun. of the same county and state of the other part,witnessed that the said geo. and Alexander for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars in hand paid the couple whereof is hereby acknowledged,hath granted,conveyed, and sold and by these present doth grant ,bargain,and sell to the said Alexander and his heirs forever one hundred and five acres of land lying and beginning in Giles County on a fork of Big Break, beginning at a white oak,running west thirty -four poles to said fork of Big Break in all one hundred and fifty-five poles to a ash,thence south ninety-nine poles to a sw gum tree(?),thence east one hundred and nine poles to said creek in all one hundred and fifty-five poles to a white oak,thence North ninety-nine poles to the beginning. To have and to hold the said tract of one hundred and five acres to the said Alexander, and his heirs, and assigns forever to his heirs and their only proper use and behalf forever, and we the said george and Alexander is warrant and defend the said tract of one hundred and five acres, from ourselves and our heirs,executors,and administratory ,or assigns, forever to the said Alexander his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof the said Alexander Barron hath hereunto set our hand and seal the day and year above mentioned.
