We C. W. H. Biles and wife S. R. L. Biles have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey to Joseph G. Hastin and his heirs assigns for the consideration of the sum of One hundred and forty two dollars and Seventy cents to us paid a tract of land in the State of Tennessee Giles County and District No. 2 containing by estimation Seven acres and twenty two poles or the ____ more or less and bounded as follows. Beginning at a stake in Joseph G. Hastens __B. line on the West bank of said Biles spring branch, thence N 63 � W 11 6/10 poles to a peach tree on the West bank of said branch; thence N 45 � W 12 poles to a stake on the West bank of said branch, thence S 68 & W 60 poles to a stake , thence N 75 W 18 3/10 p9les to a stake in N. S. Beasleys ___ line, thence S 15 E with said Beasleys line 15 poles to a stake Joseph G. Hastins N. W. corner; thence S ____ E with 30 poles to a small persimmon said Hastins _______; thence N 77 � E 70 � poles to the place of beginning containing seven acres and twenty two poles. To have and to hold the same to the said J. G. Hastin his heirs and assigns forever. We do covenant with the said J. G. Hastin that we are lawfully seized of said land and have a good right to convey it and that the same is unencumbered. We do further covenant and ____ ourselves & our heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to the said land and every part thereof to the said J. G. Biles the ____ named bargainor with whom I am personally acquainted, and acknowledged the execution of the attached instrument for the purpose herein contained. And Mrs. S. R. L. Biles wife of the said C. W. H. Biles having appeared before me privately and apart from her husband the said C.W.H. Biles and acknowledged the execution of the said instrument to have been done by her freely voluntarily and understandingly without compulsion or constraint from her said husband and for the purposes therein expressed.
