Zachariah Hasting, James Hasting Jr & Joseph Hasting

This Indenture made this the 30th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty two between James Hasting, Senior of the County of Giles and State of Tennessee of the first part and Zachariah Hasting, James Hosting Jr. and Joseph Hasting of the County of Giles sons of the aforesaid of the second part, witnessforth that the said party of the first part have for and in consideration of the sum of One Thousand and twenty five dollars to him in hand paid by the said parties of the second part, the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged , hath granted, bargained, sold, al____ and conveyed unto the said party of the second part their heirs and assignees forever, one-half of a certain lot or parcel or tract of land Situate lying and being in the County of Giles and State of Tennessee Bordered on the South by the Elk River, and the East and north by Richland Creek and the west by Lucy Pulley’s line. It being the tract of land conveyed by John D. McLain, Executor of Isaac Price Deceased of Mecklinburg County North Carolina containing two hundred five acres, the one half of the above tract of land to be the east half of the said 205 acre tract. To have and to hold the same described lot tract or parcel of land together with a _____ Singular the rights and appurtenances thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the said party of the second part, their heirs and assignees forever and the said party of the first part doth by these presents warrant and defend the right title and claim of said lot tract or parcel of land against the claim or claims of himself his heirs or assignees, against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever unto the said party of the second part their heirs and assignees forever. In witnessof whereof I have hereunto sit my hand and affix my seal the day and year above written.

Personally appeared before me Edward D. Jones Clerk of the County Court of Giles County, Amasa Ezell and John W. Coopier subscribing witnesses to the within named Deed who being first sworn deposed and say that they are acquainted with James Hasting the Bargainer and that he acknowledges the same in their presence to be his act and Deed upon the day it bears date -- witness my hand at office this 24th day of February AD 1842.
