Graveside services for Frances Smith Flowers were Saturday morning in R. H. Munford Cemetery in Covington. Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home Inc. of Covington was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Flowers died in Baptist Memorial Hospital-Tipton in Covington of heart failure.

Born in Lynnville, she was a daughter of the late Sam and Jennie Lee McMahon Smith. She attended the University of Tennessee and was selected as an U. T. Beauty in 1928 and was a member of Chi Omega.

Mrs. Flowers was a retired bookkeeper for George Flowers Cotton Company and was a member of Covington First Presbyterian Church.

The widow of George H. Flowers Jr., she leaves a son, George Howard Flowers III of Midland, Tx.; three daughters, Frances Flowers Fowlkes of Slidell, La., Barbara Flowers McBride of Covington and Jenny Flowers Strother of Memphis; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A brother, William Calvin Smith, and a sister, Mary Lee Smith, preceded her in death.

The family requests memorials be sent to Covington First Presbyterian Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
