We, the _eallered members of the Baptist Church of Christ Living in Giles and Laurnce County purpose of keeping a house devoted so goes the Lord and furthing we do cosanant with each other to take the scripture for the man of our council and if any come object us and bring any other doctrine than that we in the beginning not to receive them into our houses nor bed him Gods speed further we do agree to deal with each other according to the 18 Chapter of Matthew and other scripture we believe it to be our duty to file our seats on church meeting days whose names an survents afsign

After organised as a church

1. first chose Brother Allen Jones as moderator

2. invites visiting Brethren and sisters to Seats with us.

3. opend a door for the Reception of members Recd by Experance

4. Appointed Brother Allen Jones to Right Roals of Decorum for our inspection at our Next meeting

The Baptist church of Christ at punchin camp met on the fourth Lords day in April 1844 opened a door for the reseption of members

Received Joseph Powell By Letter.


May 1844

The Baptist church of christ at punchin Camp Met Saturday before the third Lords day in May 1844 and after Devine Services prosead to the Bisnes of the church

1 invited the visiting Brethern and Sisters of Sister churches to seats with us

2th opened a door for the reseption of members

3 cauld for the refferes

4 cauld on Brother Allen Jones who presented the Rules of Decorum and Abstract of prinsepals Which was Read and Reserved

5 motion made & second that the church prosead to caul a minister to take the oversight of the church.
And on cousulting with Gelrus the church Agrees to caul brother James Shelton if it suits his convenance

6 Motion & second that brother H. Jackson be appointed Clerk for the church which was agreed to


June 1844

1 invited Visiting Brethren and Sisters of sister churches to seats with us

2 opened a dore for the Reseption of members

>3 Read a Letter from Brother Joseph Powell Directed to Brother James Shelton and the church Requesting us to Recind our act of the Reception of his Letter and Return the _____ Letter to him again

4 motion made & 2nd to right to Brother to Caul as usial and if no charge he can obtain one in church order

July 1844

3 Recevied John B. Poteat, Francis Poteat, Elmina Roberson by Experence and Ruthay Springer by Letter Granted Brother Powell a Letter of Dismishaon By request

5 agread to Join the RichLand Association

6 Elected 2 deligats to atend the asosiation at Lin Creek and in case of failure Brothers David Roberson Elish Waldrop & H. Jackson in case of failure

7 agread to send up 50 cents for minutes

September 1844

The Baptist Church of Christ at Puncheon Camp met on Saturday Before the Second Lords day in September 1844 after Devine Servise passed to the Bisnes of the Church

1 invite Visisting Brethren and Sisters of Sister churches to Seats with us

2 opened a dore for the Recption of members Wearon Recead a peater Fouse into the fellowship of this church upon a Declaration of his faith in christ

3 agread to change our time of meating from the third to the second sunday in the month

4 motion seconded to Rite to Second Creak Church Requesting her to change her time of meating for the conveance of several of the minersting Brethren & other Brethern and Sisters


October 1844
