DANCY,GARRISON

Margery A. GARRISON said in an affidavit in 1851 that she was married in February 1830 by Justice of the Peace Frank DANCY but she did say where. As the minor boy she married was born and raised in Giles Co. and they had their 1st child in Tn. before moving to Marshall Co., Ala. in 1836, I assume the marriage occurred in Giles County. I would like to know if Frank DANCY was a J.P. in Giles County in 1830 and if so, where in Giles County? Thank you. Melton E. Durant Route 4 Box 580 Jacksonville, Tx. 75766 e-mail [email protected]

BALLENTINE, JACKSON

Looking for information on Alexander BALLENTINE and his wife Lucinda. They were slaves on the plantation of Andrew BALLENTINE in Pulaski, Giles County prior to 1846. Alexander is said to have been brought to Giles County from Virginia by the Andrew Ballentine family. Alex and Lucinda had at least five children before his death: Cage, born in 1846, Jackson, Rhoda, Jane, and Calvin. The 1870 Giles County census shows Lucinda and the younger children listed above living in the household of son Cage and his wife Celia. Lucinda moved with Cage and the family to Panola County Mississippi about 1876. I am also looking for information on Cage's wife Celia JACKSON. She was brought to Giles County, also by the Andrew Ballentineses as a little girl slave from Maryland. She was born in 1838, her father was Thomas JACKSON of Maryland. ENDSLEY, JAMES K.

ENDSLEY, James K., wife Elizabeth. They had around 14 children. I would like to find out any information I can. My Grandmother, Lessie Mae (Endsley) Bland was the youngest. I know my Grandmother witnessed the murder of her father. Her father was a farmer. I "think" the maiden name of her mother was Brown. Her name may have been Mary Elizabeth or Lucinda instead of Mary. Anyone that could help me I would appreciate it.
