In 1841 Josiah Norwood and his sister, Elizabeth Ann Clift, wife of William W. Clift, deceased, petitioned the Giles County court to sell land left by their father, Josiah Moores Norwood. Josiah and Elizabeth were living in Marshall County, TN while their siblings all were minors and lived in Lawrence County, TN. The petition was filed on 1 Mar 1841. Ausburne R. Moore was appointed commissioner to sell the land which was sold to Paul Childs on 8 Jun 1841, recorded in Book B on pages 628-641.
