To the memory of John Edmundson, born January 19, 1782, in Union District, South Carolina; moved thence while young to Newberry District where he lived beloved, respected by all, till the Fall of 1839, when he immigrated here and continued an exemplary and useful life till the morning of the 17th of January, 1854, when he suddenly died, with a firm hope of a glorious resurrection and a blessed immortality.
