Will of George Oliver |
In the name of God Amen I George Oliver in sound mind and memory do make this my last will and testament after all my lawful debts are paid and I myself decently interred. 1st I will and bequeath to my son Annanias Oliver one tract of land containing thirty acres on the waters of Buckhannan Creek adjoining my home tract also his own land (A. Oliver's) 2nd I will and bequeath to my loving wife Ann Oliver, my tract of land that I now live on during her lifetime also negro man Frank and negro woman Aimy and child Judy with all necessary stock of horses, cows, hogs and sheep with all the farming utensils and every other thing for caring to my property for her use during her life and for the benefit of the family while they stay together. 3rd I will and bequeath to my daughter Charlotte C. Oliver negro girl Judy and also horse worth seventy dollars and saddle and bridle one bed, bedstead and furniture and a bureau. 4th I will and bequeath to my daughter Ester Croft and her children fifty dollars in money. 5th I will and bequeath to my niece Martha Tarkington one bed and bedstead and furniture and one horse worth fifty dollars saddle and bridle. 6th I will and bequeath to my grand son George G. Oliver fifty dollars or a horse worth that amount. 7th I will and bequeath to my granddaughter Malvina M. Oliver fifty dollars or a horse worth that sum. 8th I will and bequeath to my son William H. Oliver the tract of land that I now live on containing two hundred sixty acres more or less and horse worth fifty dollars and saddle, bridle one bed bedstead and furniture and chest
9th After the death of of my wife Ann Oliver all the residue of my property not designated in my testament is to be equally divided between my four surviving children Annanias Oliver, Charlotte C. Oliver, William H. Oliver and Esther Croft. 10th I appoint my friend Robert Oliver Esq to be guardian for my daughter Esther and her children over the property that I have bequeathed to them. 11th I appoint my two sons Annanias and William H. Oliver to be Executors to my last will and testament this 22nd day of December AD 1833 signed and acknowledged in the presents of as witnesses
