The Last Will and Testament of
William M. Reed

William M. Reed was born in Giles County, Tennessee. He lived most of his life in Elkmont, Limestone County, Alabama. At the time of his death, he was living with his daughter Mattie Reed Overton at her home in Prospect, Tennessee.

The State of Alabama)     I William M. Reed of Elkmont, Limestone County,
                                            Alabama, do
Limestone County      )     hereby make and publish this my last will and testament.

First. I direct that all my just debts be paid by my Executors hereinafter named as soon after my death as may by them be found convenient.

Second. It is my wish that all of the indebtedness due my Estate from my daughters Tera Strain and Eula McWilliams be collected by my said Executors as soon after my death as can be done. And after such sums have been paid, the said amounts are to be a part of my Estate which I wish to be divided among my children as follows.

Third. It is my wish that all of the Estate I may die seized and possessed of consisting of all of the undivided Estate of myself and my wife Pamphelia Reed, now decd. be divided equally among my three daughters, viz. Tera Strain, wife of C. W. Strain, Eula McWilliams, wife of D. B. McWilliams, and Mattie Overton, wife of J. T. Overton, and to their heirs.

Fourth. It is my wish that and I hereby nominate my Daughters, Tera Strain, Eula McWilliams, and Mattie Overton as my Executors to this my last will and testament and ask that they be allowed to qualify as such without bond. And it is my wish and desire that my said Daughters shall wind up and settle up the sums as can be done after my death as can be done. In witness whereby I hereunto set my hand and seal this 22nd day of April 1907.

Signed and published as his last will and testament by the said William M. Reed in our presence and we in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses on the day of the date of said will.
