of Denny (Dionesia) Roper



[Dionesia Roper nee Abernathy (1783 NC to 1853 Giles County) was the wife of David Y. Roper (1778 to 1843 GILES Co., TN). They are buried in Roper Cemetery of Giles County, TN. Her father was David Abernathy and Christina Forney. David Roper's parents were William (born 1766) and Keziah stb Yates. Dionesia went by Denny and her children were Sina, Susan, Denny, Wiley, Seagraves, James, Mary, Kesiah. 1845

I, Denny Roper, widow, being in a feeble state of health do make and
publish this as my last will and testament, hereby first, I direct
that my funeral expenses and all my debts be paid as soon after my
death as possible out of any money that I may die possessed of, or may
first come into the hands of my son James C. Roper, of my assets.

Secondly, I give and bequeath to my said son, James C. Roper, my negro
woman, Nancy, all of my horses, cattle, sheep, hogs, oxen, and ox
cart, and twelve acres of land, entered by general location in Giles
County, adjoining my dower on the south and Silas L. Veach's north
boundary.

In witness whereof, I do to this my will, set my hand and seal this
13th day of November, 1845.

our names hereto in the presence of the testaters this 15th day of
Nov., 1845.
